Getting Started: Primary Organization Contacts
A “primary contact” is someone who is authorized to represent, sign and pay on behalf of their organization. They may also take the train the trainer quiz, get certified, access and teach the Prevention Project. If you are your organizations primary contact, start by following the steps below:
Signing up and paying for the program.
- Start by registering your account with the Prevention Project.
- Once logged in, choose the “Read and Sign the License Agreement” option.
- Select the “Read our Educator License Agreement” link to begin. Please take your time and read through the Prevention Project License, then select “Mark Complete” at the bottom of the page.
- Next, click the “Please fill out our required contract information” link. Please read the instructions and the top of the form, and fill out the form in its entirety to the best of your ability. Click the submit button at the bottom of the form.
- Select “Start Quiz” to certify your submission by checking the confirmation box and clicking “finish quiz”.
- Select the “Please complete our purchase order” option, and please fill out and submit our purchase order information, as done with the contract information.
- Once the purchase order has been submitted, select “Start Quiz” to certify your submission by checking the confirmation box and clicking “finish quiz”.
- This will complete the registration “course” and unlock the ability to purchase licenses to the Prevention Project Program.
Purchasing Licenses for the Prevention Project
Once you’ve completed the steps above, you’ll be able to purchase licenses for the Prevention Project. Navigate to the “Purchase Program Licenses” page. The licenses of the Prevention Project Program are sold in tiers, organized by how many students are in the organization, school or school district where the program will be implemented. select the statement that best describes the number of students in your school, district or organization to purchase the appropriate program licenses.
- Select the option that best describes your organization to drop down Prevention Project options.
- Select the format of the program you desire.
- Complete the purchase of the “course” in question.
- The completed purchase will unlock a unique code (and an email template) that you can distribute to certified teachers in your district.
- Teachers with the code can create an account at the Prevention Project site, take the “Train the Trainer” course to become certified to teach the Prevention Project, then access the appropriate course with the unique code/license password.
Getting Started: Program Teachers
Program Teachers are any adult authorized by their organization, school or district and Primary Contact to become certified and teach the Prevention Project.
- Start by registering your account with the Prevention Project.
- Once registered, you’ll need to complete your certification to access the program courses.
- If not taken directly to the Train the Trainer Course, select the “Train the Trainer Course and Quiz” menu option.
- Enroll in the Train the Trainer Course, and read the course welcome message and instructions.
- The course consists of six lessons and six short quizzes. You’ll need to pass the quizzes in order to become certified.
- The quizzes are a knowledge check for the vides. please watch the videos in their entirety, and feel free to complete the quizzes in a separate tab or window as you progress.
- Once completed, you will recieve a certificate, indicating you are certfied to teach the Prevention Project Program. Save a PDF of your certificate and feel free to print and display your certification with pride!
Accessing the Programs
Once you’ve passed the Train the Trainer, you’ll unlock the ability to “enroll” for the Prevetion Project Programs. Each program requires your license password in order to access the program materials. You can get this password from your organizations primary contact.
- Navigate to the Prevention Project Courses menu option
- Select the course or courses for which your primary contact has a license.
- Once selected, enter in the license password and click “Submit”.
- You will then be taken to the Course Content. Access the course/lesson materials by navigating via the menus presented for each program.
- You do not need to select the “Mark Complete” option for any of the programs or lessons.
- If you do mark the courses complete, you’ll still be able to go back and view the lesson materials and content.
- *Very Important* — Please remember to give the assessments to your students and send them back to us at each completion of the program! Your feedback is vital to the continued success of the Prevention Project.
FAQ
Why do I have to fill out both a contract form and a Purchase Order?
The license agreement contract needs to be maintained as a legal agreement seperate from the information we gather about your use of the program. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this vital information, and your commitment to joining us in the fight to end human trafficking.
How hard is the certification and how long does it take?
The certification consists of six videos and quizzes. The quizzes are primarily for comprehension. The certification can be completed in under an hours time.
How long does the license last?
Each license for the Prevention Project is good for one full year. The program should be renewed on an annual basis.
