Please read through this entire agreement and check the box below to indicate that you consent to these terms and conditions. We look forward to working with you!
We are a resource for you: Our staff is here to support you as you implement this curriculum. We provide a required teacher training in a train the trainer format on this portal before you begin and support throughout the program.
Important Documents: As human trafficking is a sensitive issue that elicits various responses from students, we have provided several resources that will equip your team to respond to your students’ needs. In training, you will be provided with materials for yourself, as the teachers, and for the appropriate school counseling team you feel need to be aware that you are teaching the Prevention Project™ curriculum. All of these materials should be reviewed in their entirety by you and any other facilitators before you begin teaching the Prevention Project™ curriculum. The counseling team should be notified in advance when you are beginning the Prevention Project™ program in your school.
Getting the most out of the Prevention Project™ curriculum: The Middle School Grade-by-Grade curriculum is comprised of two lessons per middle school grade (6th, 7th, and 8th) that can be used with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The Middle School 2-Lesson curriculum is comprised of two lessons the can be used with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The High School curriculum is comprised of 6 lessons that can be used with 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Each lesson requires at least 45-50 minutes to deliver (allotting more time is always beneficial to the students. Following Bloom’s Taxonomy, the lessons are constructed to organize, plan, and deliver appropriate instruction. Each lesson follows this format:
- Engage Learning: This short, opening activity is designed to help set the stage for the day’s learning.
- Understanding the Learning: This part of the lesson will provide information and ask students to discuss and explain key components. Information may be shared through videos, PowerPoints, or other interactive presentations.
- Applying the Information: In this part of the lesson, students are asked to examine and analyze the presented information.
- Evaluating the Information: Now that students have engaged with the information, this part of the lesson challenges students to implement decision-making and personal assessment on the topics.
- Wrap-up the Learning: This short, closing activity will recap and review the day’s learning. Homework is recommended following each wrap-up activity.
Each lesson is packed full of information and activities. This contract requires teachers to cover ALL of the information in each lesson in order to maintain the fidelity of the curriculum and provide maximum benefit to the students. Each lesson covers material that the creators of the Prevention Project™ curriculum have deemed essential to the program. Thus, we ask that none of the core lesson plan’s activities be omitted in the teaching without our prior written consent.
As a guide, beside each activity is an estimated amount of time recommended for each part of the lesson. If you have additional class time to dedicate to enriching the curriculum, we have provided and identified additional, appropriate resources throughout the curriculum. These additional resources are referred to as Enrichment Activities.
Many teachers also elect to relate themes in the Prevention Project™ curriculum to what students are studying in class. While we encourage this kind of creativity, it should not replace the core curriculum or time allotted for the core curriculum.
We are pleased to provide your organization with a license to the Prevention Project™ program that includes a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, un-refundable, one-year license to use the Prevention Project™ program, including all related materials and resources provided by Freekind (the “Licensed Program”) during your licensure period.
